No cleaning is required. Some conventional filters require you to change, wash, and dry several layers of filters for one machine. Dyson engineers therefore choose to protect our filters with a plastic shroud and make them replaceable, rather than washable.

By washing the filter once a month, you can help maintain suction power. Follow these easy steps for cleaning/replacing the filter:

1. Turn off your machine
2. Remove your Dyson filter(s)
3. Wash filters in cold water only
4. Dry filters
5. Replace
