Maintain optimum performance by cleaning your filter

Airborne contaminants, such as hairspray, dust and leave-in conditioners, can cause clogging in hair dryer filters, resulting in poor performance over time. We recommend you clean the filter at least once a week to maintain optimum performance, and protect the finely-tuned technology inside your Dyson Supersonic™ Professional edition. In salon environments, where filters can clog quickly, we recommend cleaning it every day.

Clean the filter

Please follow the steps in the video.

Cleaning the filter - Step by step

Cleaning the filter – Regular clean IMPORTANT: always switch OFF and unplug before carrying out any maintenance.

Remove the dirty filter cage. Do not run your hair dryer without a filter cage.

Soak the filter cage in dish soap and warm water for at least 30 minutes or overnight.

Use the supplied filter cleaning brush and vigorously scrub the soaked filter cage to remove all blockages for 15 seconds.

Rinse and dry your filter cage. Check that the filter cage is clean by holding it up to the light - you should be able to see light through it. If you can't, repeat the previous step.

Rinse the filter and allow it to dry before refitting it back to the machine.
