DYSON 2024 RESULTS: Record volumes despite challenging conditions, setting the stage for more product launches in 2025 than ever before
Published: 29 September 2025
- Sales volumes: a record high for Dyson
- Revenue: £6.6bn (2023: £7.1bn)
- Profit: EBITDA: £0.9bn (2023: £1.4bn); profit before tax: £561m (2023: £1.1bn)
- Patents filed protecting new innovations globally in 2024: 238 (2023: 231)
- Accelerated growth in MEA, SEA, India and Eastern Europe
Dyson sold more products than ever before in 2024 – in excess of 20 million globally – while overcoming slower economic growth in some markets and one-off issues. It remained focused on invention in 2024: reinventing the format of the hair dryer again with the Dyson Supersonic r™ hair dryer and launching its first hair formulation, Dyson Chitosan™ range.
2025 has been marked by the launch of significant new formats and technologies, including the Dyson PencilVac™ vacuum cleaner, a total reimagining of the vacuum cleaner; Dyson Spot+Scrub™ Ai – a robot vacuum and wet floor cleaner in one machine, with self-emptying docking station and AI-powered learning; and Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene – a new wet and dry cleaner on which the roller is refreshed with clean water on each rotation. September 2025 alone saw five new products unveiled by James Dyson at a major Berlin launch event – the result of an increased rate of product development – including the Dyson HushJet™ Purifier Compact, a powerful new purifier featuring an entirely new way to silence air as it exits the machine.
Apart from slower economic growth in 2024 and reduced consumer confidence in some key markets, one-off issues included currency fluctuations, notably in Asia and Turkey, which impacted revenue; a re-organisation of the business globally (which included a redundancy programme); a major factory fire in the Philippines (leading to a shortage of beauty products); and a deliberate rebalancing from direct retail – prioritising relationships with key retail partners.

Sir James Dyson, Dyson's Founder, said:
“We sold more Dyson products than ever before in 2024 and continue to focus on new innovations for our customers, like the Supersonic r and the PencilVac. We are spending £8m a week on research and development and investing in our engineers of the future through the Dyson Institute.
“Our investments are yielding exciting new products every year. We are hugely excited about our launches in 2025 and beyond, which bring significant innovations into people’s homes including new wet and dry floor cleaning technology, robotic technology and purification technology, as well as complete reinventions of our hair dryer and vacuum cleaner formats.”

Hanno Kirner, Dyson CEO, said:
“2024 was a difficult but necessary year of transformation for Dyson. We saw sales volumes reach their highest levels but revenue down on the prior year, due to one-off issues. We have increased the rate of product development, investing heavily in future products and future technology, notably in robotics and wet floor cleaning. We are now a leaner, reinvigorated and more productive company. We have succeeded in reducing unnecessary costs and are developing more of our engineers’ ideas. We are bringing more products to market this year than ever before.”
Dyson filed 238 patents protecting new innovations globally in 2024 vs 231 in 2023. It continued to push the state-of-the-art forward with technology that solves problems in consumers’ everyday lives.
2024 product launches included:
- Dyson Supersonic r™ hair dryer – a complete reinvention of the hair dryer, unveiled at New York Fashion Week 2024. Dyson’s most powerful and lightest hair dryer yet, first on sale to professionals only, now available to all.
- Dyson Supersonic Nural™ hair dryer – our most intelligent hair dryer, which uses Nural™ sensors to regulate the heat of the dryer to protect scalp health[1] and enhance natural shine, while delivering fast, intelligent drying without heat damage.
- Dyson WashG1™ wet floor cleaner – the global launch of Dyson’s first dedicated wet floor cleaner combining hydration, absorption, and extraction to rapidly remove wet and dry debris and tough stains in one go – using only fresh water to leave the floor with a sheen.
- Dyson Airwrap i.d.™ multi-styler and dryer – our first connected beauty device, a Bluetooth®-enabled Airwrap that lets you program and set curls at the touch of a button.
- Dyson OnTrac™ noise-cancelling headphones – our award-winning audio product with advanced active noise cancellation and up to 55 hours of listening[2].

Dyson Spot+Scrub™ Ai robot vacuum
Dyson’s new robot, a vacuum and wet floor cleaner in one machine, with self-emptying docking station and AI-powered learning. It continually optimises its cleaning patterns as it detects dirt and stains. It is relentless in ensuring the floor is left spotless – performing up to 15 focused cleaning passes over dirty areas until dirt is hygienically removed.
-
Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene wet and dry cleaner
A follow-up to the Dyson WashG1™ wet floor cleaner, it is a wet and dry cleaner on which the roller is refreshed with clean water on each rotation, to leave floors with a lovely sheen. Other wet cleaners rely on unhygienic filters which trap bacteria. The new Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene wet and dry cleaner has no filter and is simple to maintain.
