Use on damp, towel-dried hair to create a foundation of flexible, all-day style hold. Use alongside Dyson Chitosan™ Post-style serum to prime and define your styles, with flexible hold.

Step 1
Remove lid from original pump-bottle. Carefully twist the reusable pump to detach the outer sleeve. Hold the inner cartridge and unscrew to remove.

Step 2
Unbox the new refill cartridge, and remove screw cap. Attach screw cap to the used cartridge, and recycle together in your household recycling (check local guidance).
Remove foil seal on refill cartridge. Replace the pump and screw back into place. Reattach outer sleeve and lid.

How to maintain
Remove lid and carefully twist the pump to detach the outer sleeve. Hold the inner cartridge and unscrew the pump to remove it. Wipe the pump with a damp cloth or cotton pad, then hold under running water. Pump 2-3 times to remove any product. Once dry, screw back into the inner cartridge and reattach the outer sleeve and lid.

Each formula contains the same level of our hero ingredient, chitosan, to create flexible hold in your hair. However, each variant has also been carefully engineered with varying levels of other key ingredients – including emollients, conditioners, and emulsifiers – to suit different hair shapes and conditioning preferences.
Our light conditioning formulas use grapeseed oil to nourish and enhance softness and hold, without adding excess weight to the hair.
Our rich conditioning formulas use more intensely nourishing ingredients, such as castor seed oil, to condition for soft, long-lasting styles on hair that needs more intense hair nourishment.
Choosing the right Pre-style cream variant for your hair comes down to two key factors and is based on your natural hair type, regardless of the style(s) you’re looking to achieve.
First, determine your hair shape. Our Pre-style cream is tailored to two groups of hair shapes: straight to wavy, and curly to coily. To find which applies to you, imagine your hair has been washed and left to air-dry. What shape do the majority of the strands take?
Second, decide your conditioning preference. If your hair strands are finer, or your overall hair density thinner, choose a light conditioning formula. If your hair is thicker, in strand diameter and/or density, or is more dry or damaged, you may prefer a rich conditioning formula.
Dyson Chitosan™ Pre-style cream should be applied to damp, towel-dried hair, before drying and styling.
The amount of Pre-style cream that’s right for you will vary depending on factors such as your hair length, density, thickness and condition.
Less is more with our Pre-style cream. We recommend starting with one or two pumps, building as needed for your hair. Our Dyson-engineered applicator is rigorously tested to deliver the same amount, pump after pump, so once you’ve established the right amount for your hair, you can count on your dosage, every time.
